How Groovo started
Our Story
Hey everyone, founder here.
Groovo started a long time ago, sitting in our lab.
I'm a tech guy and I've been building stuff for years. But when I started my business, I realised there are two things I need to grow and I had no idea about them.
Sales & Marketing.
I started doing it. I was reaching out to people every day. Most didn't reply. A few got on calls. And even when I got calls, I wasn't closing. I was a great guy, my team was one of the best. But the problem was nobody knew us. It doesn't make sense to build an amazing product and put a good profile picture on LinkedIn if nobody is visiting your pages.
I was not able to grow the business.
Not because I was not good enough.
Not because I wasn't serious.
But because I wasn't presenting myself well and I was not reaching the right tables.
I didn't know how to market us, how to talk to people, how to close deals. I didn't know how to explain value in a way that hits.
And that feeling is painful. You build something with everything you have... and then you can't sell it properly.
That's when I realised sales and marketing is an art. And if you're not naturally good at it, you need practice. Real practice.
I was using multiple apps, paying monthly subscriptions for simple things and still jumping app to app. Then I hired people, wasted money, wasted time and still no results. Most of them weren't good enough. For them, tech was complicated.
So I started building tools for myself. Not for "launch." Not for "startup." For me. Because I needed it. I used it on myself. I tested it on myself. I still use it.
I kept building more tools, fixing my own process, trying to scale the revenue. And one day it hit me.
Why are founders paying insane money to SaaS companies just to get started, and still struggling to execute?
Why is everything so complicated?
Why is sales and marketing not structured and repeatable?
So I combined what I built into one. That became Groovo.
For the last few months, me and my team have been grinding like crazy. Building Groovo days and nights. God complex one day and skeptical the next. Breaking things. Fixing them. Iterating again and again. Nights became mornings. Eyes burning.
But we kept going because we didn't want to ship something random.
I got sick twice just from working too much. I wasn't doing it for money. I was doing it to build something that will blow up. Something that matters. Started with just two things. Now it has grown into something else entirely.
We wanted to ship something that actually makes you better.
This is our first step. We will take it far and beyond.
